Bester + Smithson has a vision for the people and communities we serve: purpose + growth.

As Bester + Smithson Community Development Corporations grows, we aim to expand our services to encompass three specific groups:

  • young, homeless mothers,

  • young, male youths under 18, and

  • young, adult males who are non-violent, first time offenders who are re-establishing themselves into society.

Bester + Smithson CDC also plans to feature a Life Changing Skills Series, which includes a broad-range of opportunities for training, housing assistance, employment, mentoring and coaching, and survival techniques that will help change participants’ views and ultimately their lives. The Life Changing Skills Series program is the primary objective of our efforts to change lives through strategic partnerships that provide life and job skills building, livable incomes, employment and resources for successful outcomes.

Future Programs of Impact

Snow’s Sanctuary:
A Tiny House Community for Homeless Young Mothers

We desire to provide safe, quality homes to young, homeless women and children in transition through our Tiny House Community program. The tiny house will provide our mothers with the privacy, dignity, respect, and love they need to feel empowered to change their life for the rest of their life.

Faith + Football

The Faith and Football program will consist of mentorship, guidance, and the mental and physical growth of male youths, ages 10-18. Within our program, we’ll help with providing training and nutritional advice to our participants.

Second Chance

Second Chance will assist young male non-violent first time offenders in rebuilding their lives and restoring dignity and respect, while on the road to becoming productive citizens in local communities. In addition, this organization will assist male youth in sports, education, motivation, and financial assistance to promote growth and deter future criminal behavior. Second Chance will provide intense intervention services which are designed to reasonably deter future criminal behavior.
